The Gynecare 4350 Interceed Absorbable Adhesion Barrier is a sterile fitted fabric made of oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC) designed for reducing post-surgical adhesions in gynecologic and other surgical procedures. Ethicon’s Interceed adhesion barrier is clinically proven to significantly reduce the formation of adhesions when placed at the surgical site. Moreover, because it is absorbable, there are no removal requirements, improving patient procedures.

Key Features and Benefits

Proven Adhesion Prevention Interceed has been proven to surgically reduce adhesions which can lead to complications such as chronic pain, infertility, and bowel obstruction.

Provides an effective physical barrier between tissues during the critical healing phase.

Absorbable Material This barrier made out of oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC) is fully absorbed by the body within two weeks after surgery, eliminating the need for a second procedure to remove the material.

Flexible and Conformable Design As the 3” x 4” fabric is thin, soft, and pliable, it is easy to handle and apply to different surgical sites and it can conform to irregular surfaces, adhering to tissues without the need for sutures or fixation.

Broad Scope of Uses

Involves surgical interventions such as: myomectomy, hysterectomy, and endometriosis, as well as gynecologic, abdominal and pelvic surgeries.

In addition to gynecologic and abdominal surgery, can also aid in other laparoscopic and open surgical procedures by decreasing the amount of adhesion-related problems.

User Friendly

Due to its single-use design, sterility and the sterile field Interceed barrier with the Interceed can be placed during the surgery.

Because they need little to no preparation, Interceed barriers can be placed during the intraoperative period.

Stands by the industry’s best ways of avoiding Intercede barriers instruments.

As is the case with other surgical tools, Interceed is widely used in hospitals and surgical centers globally.

Focuses on enhancing recovery wound healing aspects after surgeries.

Remedial Measures

Inorder to actively halt the formation of adhesions, Gynecare Interceed Adhesion barriers are placed in strategic locations within the body which help inhibit movement between tissues.

When put in a certain area of the body, Interceed barriers soak up excess fluids and mechanically form tissues losing contact so no tissue comes into contact with one another. Protective structures fomred in a defensive manner are dismantled round by round until they are finally gone.
